Anja Kroencke's beautifully modern interpretation of trends has earned her
a position among the top artists in fashion illustration today. Unusual color combinations,
texture, and spatial perception characterize her signature style. This
is truly inspired by her love of architecture, furniture design, and contemporary
art.
After graduating in 1987 from the College for Textile & Design with a degree
in Fashion Design and Illustration in Vienna (Spengergasse), Anja pursued
a career in Graphic Design and Art Direction. She worked at a few design
studios before moving on in 1990 to become an Art Director at GGK, one
of Austria's largest advertising agencies.
In 1994 she moved to New York and for the next 3 years she worked in various
design studios and agencies as a design director. At the same time she
rekindled her passion for illustration and began illustrating on a part-time
basis. Her work was so well received that Anja decided to devote herself
full time to her illustration career in 1997.
Anja has won numerous awards and her work has appeared in American Illustration,
The Art Directors Club Annuals, Society of Illustrators, Communication
Arts, Print Magazine, Luerzer's Archive and The Society of Publication
Designers.
