Artist: Gunnlaug Moen Hembery

Gunnlaug is from Norway but has lived in England for 9 years. After working as a graphic designer in Oslo she decided to study illustration. She has worked as an illustrator since 2000 after graduating with a First Class Degree from University of Central England, also winning D&AD's Student Awards ('Young Blood') for her final project.

During the last seven years, Gunnlaug has illustrated two editorial illustrations a week for Dagbladet, one of Norways leading newspapers, as well as commissions ranging from illustrations for books and design to editorial and advertising. Her work has been exhibited in independent and collective exhibitions in Norway and Britian.

In 2004 she won first prize in a storybord competition arranged by Aardman and BBC Animation. She attended the Three Months Animation Course (University of the West of England) in Bristol the same year. In 2005 she illustrated the 40 years anniversary menus for PizzaExpress.

Gunnlaug moved from England back to Norway in 2005. Where she is now working in a fellowship with nine other creatives.
