Phil was born in South Wales in 1981 and lives and works in Newport. He graduated from the Herefordshire College of Art and Design with a 1st Class BA Honours degree in Illustration.

In 2006 he received the Royal Mail Award for The Royal Society of Arts, and was also selected for the D&AD graduate placement scheme. His work appeared at the New Blood 06 exhibition in London, and as a result featured in Digit - The Future of Digital Design magazine - in their Best in Graduate Design section. Phil’s work has previously been selcted for publication in the AOI Illustration Annual, Images (the only jury selected sourcebook for illustration in the UK).
